Velum Obscura

Privacy notice

How personal data is handled on velumobscura.com: the contact form, the anti-spam check and the preferences saved in your browser.

Data controller: Matteo Losito, creator of Velum Obscura.

The data entered in the form (name, email address and message) is used exclusively to receive and reply to the request sent. It is not used for advertising purposes, and submitting the form does not subscribe you to any newsletter or mailing list.

Cloudflare technical services are used to transmit the message. The data is not passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.

Anti-spam protection. To protect the form from spam we use Turnstile, a Cloudflare service. When you open the Contact page your browser connects to Cloudflare’s servers to run the check: technical data such as your IP address is processed at that stage. You are normally not asked to do anything, and the site sets no cookies.

Preferences in your browser. The site remembers, only on your device and without cookies, the language you chose and whether you want the background music (with the point of the track reached during the visit). These are technical preferences: they are not sent to us or used to profile you, and you can delete them from your browser settings.

Transfer of data outside the EU. Cloudflare is based in the United States. If data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer takes place with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

The website does not independently keep a copy of the message. The controller keeps the communications received in their own mailbox only for as long as needed to handle the request and any subsequent dealings with the person concerned, unless required by law.

Legal basis: the processing is necessary to follow up the contact request made by the user.

You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction of or objection to the processing of your data by using the form on the Contact page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
